From the Rabbi

The time is fast approaching – this year’s fall holidays, a new school year, a new stage in this congregation’s life, and in my family’s. It’s the middle of July, which means I am now formally the rabbi of Or Haneshamah – what a thrill and an honour. It is also the new month of Av, when concepts of tearing down and rebuilding, letting go and moving forward are highlighted in our liturgical cycle. It is awesome to notice that so much of what Judaism has to teach can be relevant in our lives.

I look forward to seeing many of you in August, when we will join for two rabbi-led Shabbat gatherings.  In the meantime, please feel free to reach out by email to rabbi@orh.ca.
