What do Jewish Canadians really think about Israel/Palestine?

OrH members, Diana Ralph and Keith Newman each were principle investigators of cutting edge surveys of Jewish Canadians and of Canadians in general.  Diana will summarize the results of the survey related to Jewish Canadians’ views on Israel Palestine, and engage participants in discussing the following questions:

• Are Jewish Canadians one homogeneous “community” with shared opinions about Israel/Palestine?  If not, on what basis do we differ? How do we compare to Canadians in general and to Jewish Americans?
• Do  Jewish Canadians uncritically support the Israel government even if its policies and practices might violate international law and the rights of Palestinians?
• How do Jewish Canadians feel about Palestinian resistance, especially the Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment (BDS) movement?
• Do Jewish Canadians think that criticism of Israeli policies is antisemitic?  Do they think those who criticize Israel should be condemned?
