Sunday, August 9, 2020 • 19 Av 5780
10:00 AM - 11:30 AMZoom, RSVP required to mindfulness@orh.caBased on the book, This Is Real and You Are Completely Unprepared by Rabbi Alan Lew; introducing a module for self-guided, study-buddy and Zoom sessions to tether us to the Jewish journey from Tisha B'Av to Sukkot. Rabbi Lew’s beloved and approachable book acts as our guide with insight, lore, history, intelligence, and above all, heart.
As we anticipate this wholly unprecedented holy season, Rabbi Alan Lew’s book is subtitled, The Days of Awe as a Journey of Transformation, and if there was ever a year that we all need some support, 2020/5781 is it.
Guided by Joyce Schachter, join in discussions based on the book, which spans the summer and early fall holiday cycle (July-Oct). The book will be available for purchase for $15.95 at Octopus Books at Bank and Third in the Glebe.
Sessions will take place via Zoom Sunday mornings from 10am-11:30 am:
Session #1 - Aug 9 - Chapters 1-5
A Map of the Journey; Teshuvah; Tisha B’Av; Elul; Selihot
Session #2 - Sep 13 - Chapters 6-Epilogue
