Diana Ralph “Climate Justice in Canada” (11 minutes).  

Diana reviews the causes of climate change, its serious impacts on Canada, and how the oil industry and  the Canadian government put oil interests above those of the Earth and Canadians.  She describes the Green New Deal as a practical and necessary way to get Canada off its addiction to oil.

Jean Hanson  “Taking on Racism and Climate Change One Stitch at a Time”  (19 minutes):

Jean explains how racism and climate change are indivisible and that both must be addressed simultaneously.  She encourages us to take action both by pressuring our governments and personally.  As an example, she describes her initiative to challenge the clothing industry by reclaiming and reusing fabrics.

3pm-5pm - Exploring Judaism: A Reconstructionist Approach - IN-PERSON
Lower Level @30 Cleary Avenue

Sit in on a live in-person session of Exploring Judaism (EJ) - the 2-year course of adult study of the Jewish year cycle, life cycle and key value concepts. Join with members of the 2021-2022 cohort of EJ in a class experience that is always lively and interactive.

5pm-6:30pm - Potluck Picnic with shared dairy treats – IN-PERSON

Lower level at 30 Cleary Avenue or outside (weather permitting)

6:30-7:30 - A Yomtov/Festival Ritual of Healing and Remembrance -  IN-PERSON and/or via ZOOM

To close the festival, an opportunity to sing together, say Yizkor/the memorial prayer, and reflect with intention on healing the planet, our communities, and our dear ones. Led by Rabbi Liz.
