Refugee Sponsorship
Refugee Sponsorship
Help us raise funds to support our sponsored Syrian refugee family
This year Or Haneshamah has made a decision to jointly sponsor a Syrian refugee family together with 1st Unitarian Church. The Syrian family consists of a couple, their six children, and their mother/mother-in-law. An application on behalf of the family has been prepared and submitted to the Federal Department responsible for immigration. A condition of sponsorship is that together with 1st Unitarian Church, we raise funds to support the family for their first year of life in Canada. We have to have the funds to help them pay rent, food, clothing, transportation, school supplies, and all of the other costs associated with living in Ottawa. With your help we will be able to do that. Please contribute generously to the fund to help pay for the family’s resettlement in Canada
To make it as easy as possible for you to contribute, 1st Unitarian has agreed to accept and process contributions on behalf of OrH members who contribute. Here are three possible procedures to follow:
- Etransfer to fm@firstunitarianottawa.ca – this is auto deposit – no password needed. However, you MUST state in the Etransfer notes the intent of the donation and your mailing address so that 1st Unitarian can send you a tax receipt.
- Cheques – made out to First Unitarian Congregation – memo line must state the intent of the donation.
- Credit Card – please contact Michelle Jackson 343-987-8560 or email at fm@firstunitarianottawa.ca.
