.Historical Jewish Communities of Barecelona and SegoviaJoin us on Friday, February 9, at 8:00 pm (following Kabbalat Shabbat services at 6:30 and potluck supper at 7:30) for a JED (Jewish Education and Dialogue) presentation on Historical Jewish Communities of Barcelona and Segovia, Spain. Before the Spanish Inquisition, Spain had one of the largest and most prosperous Jewish populations in history. Little now remains of the once-thriving Medieval Jewish quarters, although significant efforts have been made recently to preserve what’s left. In the summer of 2017, OrH member Bronwyn Steinberg visited the historic, hidden-in-plain-sight Jewish barrios of Barcelona and Segovia, Spain. In this JED talk, Bronwyn will share photos and stories from her journey.
