* The Canada Israel Cultural Foundation presents Join Maurice Switzer, citizen of the Mississaugas of Alderville First Nation and member of the Sons of Jacob congregation of North Bay, who will speak on "20th Century Genocide: Indigenous and Jewish Experiences," Wednesday, June 21, 7 - 9 pm at Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington St. Switzer explores the topic of genocide in the 20th century from the unique perspective as a descendant of both Residential school survivors and Holocaust survivors. The next "Chanting and Chocolate" – a monthly evening of sacred chanting with uplifting music and deep spiritual intention to open the heart and connect with the Divine – takes place Monday, June 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Israel, 1301 Prince of Wales Dr. OrH member Lorne will be joined by Ottawa musicians Joel Yan, Aditi Magdalena and Corinne Baumgarten. Tea and home-baked, triple-chocolate brownies will be served after the chant. All are welcome, Jewish or not. No Hebrew knowledge is required. We will supply chant sheets. $10 suggested donation. Sarah will speak at Shabbat services at Kehillat Beth Israel, as part of their Jewish Identity in Canada in this celebratory 150th year. Saturday, July 8, 9 – noon. OrH members are specially invited to join KBI's services this morning to hear Sarah's presentation. KBI is located at 1400 Coldrey Ave.
