Wednesday, 23 September, 2015 10 Tishrei 5776

5:00 PM - 7:30 PMWorship Hall of Unitarians

We reconvene on Yom Kippur afternoon for the afternoon Minhah service, including the tale of Jonah. We continue with our alternative Minhah torah reading, followed by a reflection on the traditional themes of the Avodah and Martyrologyservices. The always meaningful Yizkor memorial service, honouring the memories of our loved ones, will begin at 6:00 pm. Finally, Ne’ilah beckons us, through song and silence, before the open ark or at our seats, towards the final great blast of the shofar, and the conclusion of our day with Havdallah. We share a communal potluck break-fast meal immediately following.

Children will join our educator Eliyanah Delicate as you help to share with the community the story of Jonah prepared together during the morning service. Then, join Eliyanah during Yizkor with your mistakes, a goat and your imagination, following which we will come together with the whole community in the lead up to the final blasts of the Shofar that end Yom Kippur.

Childcare available throughout the afternoon service.

Pot luck vegetarian break fast to follow.
