Shabbat Limmud

Saturday, 21 May, 2016 13 Iyyar 5776

9:45 AM - 12:15 PMRoom 5, lower level of Unitarians

Join with Rabbi Liz in an abbreviated services followed by extended study on the Torah portion, which is Parshat Behar (Lev 25:1 - 26:2). We explore traditional rabbinic, Hasidic, and contemporary interpretations, as well as your insights, with the goal of discovering points of resonance between our lives and Torah.

Some comments from previous participants:

“The format allowed for an extended exploration of the text that resulted in a deeper conversation than is normally possible during a traditional or regular service.  As we grappled with the meaning of the text and exchanged ideas, there were definitely moments of true insight that I found very energizing.”

“Sometimes I feel like delving deeper into Torah. My first experience with the Limmud Shabbat is that it struck a very good balance between these two desires, between learning and feeling - or between heart and mind.”
